Healthcare Organization
The start of the new year brings tremendous opportunity to do things differently moving forward. As you look ahead to 2017, consider these simple tips for improving or, if you dont have one already, creating your game plan related to your healthcare organization:
Pick a designated spot for all medications. Make sure that little hands and even pets dont have access to them. Accidental overdose happens quickly and can be deadly.
Organize your medications. If you have some medications to take in the morning and others in the evening, purchase a pill box container that gives you the option of separating morning and night meds by day of the week.
Keep a list of all medications you are taking. This tip is particularly useful if you take several medications prescribed for different health issues. By keeping a list, you can easily update your records with your various healthcare providers, your pharmacist and any others who need to know which medications and what dosage of each that are prescribed for you. In emergency situations, the list can be used by your family or friends to make the first responders or ER staff aware of your medications including any medication allergies or sensitivities.
Maintain a log of all your healthcare expenditures in one place. Keeping written record of your expenses, or simply your receipts, is very useful when it comes to claiming any of these expenditures on your tax forms for the year. Likewise, keeping track of medical mileage such as trips to the doctor is also recommended.
Heres to a healthy 2017!
